UX review presentations

How do you create compelling presentations that wow your colleagues and impress your managers?

A UX review is a story about a person trying to get something done. The best reviews we sit in open with that person, not with the screens: who they are, what they came to do, and where they got stuck.

A structure that works

  • Start with one quote from research, word for word.
  • Show the journey as it is today, including the ugly parts.
  • Propose one change per problem, and say what it costs.
  • End with what you need from the room: a decision, not applause.

Keep the deck short and the prototype open. When someone asks what happens if they press a button, press it. Nothing ends a debate faster than the thing itself.
