Release notes people actually read
Short, specific and honest about what broke. Our template for release notes, with examples.
Lana Steiner

Release notes are a letter to someone who is busy. Ours follow three rules: say what changed in the first sentence, show it in one picture, and be honest about what broke.
- Lead with the user’s benefit, not the feature’s name.
- One picture or a short clip, never a wall of screenshots.
- Fixes get a line each, named the way a customer reported them.
People read them now. Some of them even reply.
