Our story

We’re just getting started

We’ve already helped over 4,000 companies achieve remarkable results.

DrumKit began in 2019 at a kitchen table in Collingwood. Amélie Laurent had spent ten years rebuilding the same button in every product she shipped, and Nic Davidson had spent the same ten years rebuilding it again in code. They wanted one place where a component is designed, documented and handed off once.

The first version was a shared library for three local studios. It kept their buttons, inputs and colours in sync across every file, and it told a developer exactly which token a designer had meant. Within a year those three studios had become three hundred teams, most of whom found us through a friend.

Today 64 of us work from studios in Melbourne and Sydney and from home across Australia. We still review every change to the component compiler by hand, and we still answer support from the people who build the product.

We build DrumKit the way we hope our customers build their products: small teams, short loops and a design system at the centre. Every release starts with a conversation with a customer and ends with notes that say plainly what changed and why.

  • One source of truth for design and code, never two that drift apart.
  • Tools that explain themselves, so a new starter ships in their first week.
  • Honest pricing that grows with your team, with no seat you pay for twice.

There’s a lot left to build. If that sounds like work you’d enjoy, we’re hiring in both studios and remotely.

We’re proud of our success stories

Case studies from some of our amazing customers who are building faster.

Catalog

Catalog

Six weeks after we started, every product team was building from the same library. Handoff went from days to a link.
Leapyear

Leapyear

Our engineers stopped rebuilding what design had already built. We ship three times as often and nobody stays late on release night.
Peregrin

Peregrin

We rebranded six products in one sprint. Change a token once and every product picks it up the same day.
Pictel AI

Pictel AI

The analytics showed us which components nobody touched. We retired forty of them in a week and our library finally makes sense.

We’re a fast-growing team

We’re always on the lookout for passionate, dynamic, and talented individuals.
