Management
Better one-on-ones in half the time
A shared doc, three standing questions and a rule about who talks first. It changed our team.
Archie Young

Our one-on-ones used to wander. Now each one has a shared doc and three standing questions: what went well, what is in your way, and what should I know that I don’t?
The person reporting talks first, always. The manager’s agenda goes last and is usually shorter than they thought. Thirty minutes became fifteen, and the notes mean nothing said is forgotten.
